For puppies 8-16 weeks.

Your puppy is constantly learning, changing and growing.  Starting him off on the right foot in these first few weeks can have a huge impact on how he interacts with the world around him.  Teaching your puppy to calmly accept handling, respond to basic commands, and interact politely often makes the difference between having a beloved family member and having an out of control challenge.  How to do all of this while establishing trust and building the bond between you and your puppy is where Flying Ace comes in!

Over the course of this class we will introduce your puppy to the basic skills, help you deal with typical puppy behavior, answer your questions about issues you may be having, and get your puppy's socialization started off right!

*Please note that, for safety reasons, very large or very small puppies may not be able to participate in group playtime, depending on the make up of the class.*

This class is designed to help you and your dog learn the basics of obedience and manners.  Using different games and exercises, we will learn and practice all of the basic commands, including sit, down, come, stay, and beginning loose leash walking.

Great for dogs just starting out as well as for dogs that are trying to get better at working around distractions.  Each dog/handler team is encouraged to work at their own level and advance at their own pace.

Using various games and exercises, this fun class will challenge you and your dog to deepen your bond and improve your skills.  The focus is on teamwork and communication between you and your dog.  The exercises and curriculum vary to meet the needs of each class, so no two class sessions are ever the same.  This is an engaging and challenging class that will push you and your dog to be your best!

Above and Beyond

Next class:

Thursdays, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, beginning January 9, 2025, 6 weeks, $285. Instructor: Heather Rush

For dogs 10 months or older with a solid understanding of all basic skills with distraction.

Ever wondered if your dog could walk past distractions without you holding the leash? Or whether he would hold his wait while other dogs were called all around him? We practice these skills and more in our advanced skills challenge! Each week, the class will be presented with a challenge. Then we will spend the next hour breaking it down piece by piece and practicing the skills needed to complete it. At the end of the hour, we will give the challenge a try--and you will be surprised and what your dog is capable of! This class is for dogs and their handlers who have already taken an intermediate obedience class.

Out and About

Next class:

Tuesdays, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, beginning September 10, 5 weeks, Variable locations, $240

For dogs who have completed an intermediate level class.

Take your obedience skills out of the classroom and up to the next level. This follow-up course to traditional intermediate or advanced classes applies what you have learned in the classroom to real life situations. Each class takes place at a different local location, including parks, trails and malls, giving us the chance to practice our skills out among real distractions. We'll be working on loose leash walking, obedience skills, meet and greets, and what to do when things don't go as planned.

Our local area boasts some of the most dog friendly places in the country. This course is designed to help make sure you and your dog are prepared to take advantage of that safely and with confidence. Classroom learning is an excellent tool for learning obedience skills but, as many of us can attest, the way our dogs behave can change dramatically from one situation to another. Practice in real world situations is critical to proofing a solid stay, teaching a joyous and consistent recall, and having an enjoyable and relaxing loose leash walk. That's why on location training can be such a huge benefit. Ideal for dogs and handlers interested in becoming a Pet Therapy team, this is also a great course for anyone who has ever dreamed of taking their dog to work, to dinner, or on vacation. Come hit the trails (and parks and shopping malls) with us!

For dogs of any age

Want to teach your dog to roll over, give you a high five, or take a bow? This class is for you! Learning tricks is about more than just fun and games. Tricks are a great way to build your bond with your dog, increase your dog’s confidence, and even teach some important skills for taking care of your dog’s health.

We’ll break the tricks down into component parts, and teach you how to build more tricks of your own. By the end of the session, your dog should have learned enough tricks to earn their AKC Novice Trick Dog title (and we can do the evaluation). You can teach an old dog new tricks!
